Béla Tarr Films Restored and Shown in the Netherlands

From December 15, Eye Filmmuseum is releasing five new Béla Tarr restorations in Dutch film theaters. Sátántangó (1994), Werkmeister Harmóniák [Werckmeister Harmonies] (2000), and the film noir parable Kárhozat [Damnation] (1988), as well as Szabadgyalog [The Outsider] (1981) and Családi tüzfészek [Family Nest] (1979) all get a new release.

Eye will also release the restorations of A londoni férfi [The Man from London] (2007) and A torinói ló [The Turin Horse] in Dutch movie theaters in the coming years.

Een gesprek met Jacques Rancière 

Fictie is overal. De vraag is: waar situeren we het beginpunt van fictie? Welke schikking zorgt ervoor dat er iets gebeurt? In zekere zin kunnen we zeggen dat er sprake is van fictie zodra een soort narratief ons vertelt of laat zien dat er iets gebeurt. Daarom ben ik in mijn recente werk vooral geïnteresseerd in het verkennen van de grenzen van fictie, de grens tussen ‘er gebeurt niets’ en ‘er gebeurt iets’.
