After more than three and a half months of closure, Belgian cinemas are allowed to reopen on Wednesday July 1.
On March 13, theatres had been forced to shut down due to the corona pandemic. In the past few months, Sabzian has kept a regularly updated list of initiatives to watch films or attend festivals online, and curated an online selection of weekly triple bills, available to stream. For July, we also resume our monthly overview of Belgian premieres and festivals. Following the safety measures, all regular cinemas will be open with the exception of De Cinema in Antwerp that picks up again on July 9 and Flagey’s cinema Studio 5 that remains closed due to renovation works this summer.
