What Fassbinder film is it?
The one-armed man comes into the flower shop and says:
What flower expresses
Days go by
And they just keep going by endlessly
Pulling you
Into the future.
Days go by
Endlessly
Endlessly pulling you
Into the future.
And the florist says:
White Lily
White Lily, Home of the Brave (Live)
“Written and directed by Anderson, this is far removed from the monochrome epics of her earlier shows, relying on colour imagery, dance, and fair helpings of Anderson’s spooky humour. All the hits and album faves are here, although the adoption of the rock format contradicts the initial, idiosyncratic charm of her work. Fans should flock, while others are guaranteed 91 minutes of the strangest pop entertainment ever.”

“The results have considerable appeal on their own terms. This is a nice compendium of the things that Miss Anderson’s fans find so endearing, and in the proper frame of mind the flow of songs contains its own inner logic... Its pristine technical polish was obviously abetted by a host of able collaborators, among them an absolutely terrific band. As a showcase for the latest advances in digitalized, computerized electronic instruments, the film has its own fascination, as well. And as a certification of Miss Anderson's unique gifts, it's a genuine success.”
