The American Cinematheque in Los Angeles is hosting a Peter Watkins retrospective (through June 28, 2026) following the filmmaker’s passing in November, featuring works such as Culloden (1964), The War Game (1966), Punishment Park (1971), Edvard Munch (1974), and the monumental The Journey (1987), alongside a selection of shorts.
From 25 to 30 April 2026, the first edition of the Restored Film Festival Brussels will be organised by Cinema Palace, CINEMATEK, Cinema RITCS and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura. The programme brings together a selection of digitally restored films from international archives, celebrating both local and global film heritage.
MoMA announces two major film programs this summer: Teo Hernández (May 14–26), the first U.S. monographic presentation of the Mexican-born queer avant-garde filmmaker, comprising 19 films from his Super 8 practice; and Universal Westerns (June 5–July 3), a series tracing the evolution of the Western at Universal.

From 4 April to 23 May, CINEMATEK, in collaboration with Another Gaze journal, presents ‘Let Cinema Go to Its Ruin: The Cinema of Marguerite Duras’, a major retrospective dedicated to one of the most singular voices in modern cinema.
