Chilean filmmaker Patricio Guzmán passed away in Paris on 15 September at the age of 85. Born in Santiago in 1941, he devoted much of his life and work to preserving the memory of Chile’s recent history.

This summer, Belgian cinemas are screening retrospectives of Jacques Tati, Ingmar Bergman, Akira Kurosawa and, from 2 September, Jacques Demy. From 10 September, De Cinema’s Back 2 School programme kicks off for a second edition.

One year after the publication of the issue Serge Daney and the Promise of Cinema on Sabzian, accompanied by a ten-film programme at London’s ICA, Kokermag publishes a Persian-language selection devoted to Serge Daney.
