Kino Climates Symposium
Ciné Rio (Ghent) and Cinema Nova (Brussels) welcome you to their first joint Kino Climates symposium! The symposium takes place on December 8 and 9 in Brussels and on December 10 and 11 in Ghent.
The Kino Climates symposium focuses on some relevant issues, including the often delicate relationship between Cinema and its building, and the inevitable issue of sustainability associated with it. In addition, Kino Climates looks at how a cinema can interact with local communities to be firmly rooted in its neighbourhood and strengthen existing networks.
The Kino Climates network is a European partnership of independent cinemas that came into being during the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2010. It aims to promote free programming and diversity in film culture. After two years of interruption due to the pandemic, the initiative wants to revive and expand their annual meetings.
More information on the program in Brussels can be found here, and details about the program in Ghent are available here.
