Sirah Foighel Brutmann & Eitan Efrat at De Brakke Grond

From 16 December until 27 January, Brussels-based artists Sirah Foighel Brutmann and Eitan Efrat’s solo exhibition, ‘When She Spoke’, is on show at De Brakke Grond in Amsterdam. This extensive exhibition presents a selection of recent video installations. Gathering Series, a now completed triptych of video works - Orientation (2015), Nude Descending a Staircase (2015) and Miroir Séb Fragile ! (2017) - is shown together for the first time. In addition, the new installation When She Spoke – from which the exhibition title is derived – has been developed for the Grote Zaal of De Brakke Grond.

On 9 and 17 January and during the closing event on the 27th, a special 16mm projection of Miroir Séb Fragile ! (2017, 22’) will take place. This final piece of the Gathering Series is a music film made as a homage to cinematographer Sébastien Koeppel and was filmed on his various 16mm film stocks, some of which were long expired.

Another new work of Sirah and Eitan, Perfect Cut (2019, 8’), will premiere in January at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) as part of the Bright Future shorts section.whenshespoke
