Visite Film Festival #9

Not so long ago, De Imagerie welcomed visitors to Het Bos in Antwerp during their eighth edition of Visite Film Festival. From 11 to 14 November, the biannual film festival Visite opens its doors again, showing unique films, from both promising as of more established names from the documentary, political and experimental film landscape. Invited makers show their own work alongside films by fellow filmmakers they admire or share affinities with. The filmmakers are always present to talk about their work and enter into a dialogue with the public. This year's edition will be in the presence of Mouaad el Salem, Miguel Peres Dos Santos, Vincent Meessen and Collectif Faire-part. For the first time, this edition of Visite will also work thematically. Inspired by the work In Mourning and Rage (1977) by Suzanne Lacy and Leslie Labowitz, Visite #9 has been given the title: We fight back. Invited artists are those who speak with their films about activism, protest and counter-movement. The films depict a possible new future and the invited filmmakers touch upon their hopes for change. In addition to the film screenings, an audiovisual exhibition featuring works by Suzanne Lacy & Leslie Labowitz, Thirza Cutland and Stephanie Rizaj will be on view.

Every evening, prior to the screenings, vegetarian food will be served by different collectives. Films are screened at 20h30 and afterwards it will be possible to discuss extensively until midnight.
