Woodcutters of the Deep South + Working Together
Lionel Rogosin Retrospective

In Woodcutters of the Deep South, Lionel Rogosin sets out to meet loggers in the South—poor, small-scale independent workers employed by a paper mill – who eventually unite across racial divides to demand decent working conditions. Forty years later, made Working Together (2021) a sobering account of an era in which progressive initiatives of this kind were deliberately dismantled by U.S. intelligence agencies.
