Haar ongrijpbare en onbegrijpelijke plaats in het cinematografisch dispositief heeft alles te maken met de manier waarop ze de machtsverhouding binnen het dispositief verstoort. De machtsverhouding tussen actrice en camera zit normaal zo in elkaar dat beide partijen zich in wederzijdse afhankelijkheid en bewondering optillen tot glamour.
