Âge d’Or Festival

The Âge d'Or festival will be held again this year in the weekend of 24 and 25 September, in the CINEMATEK of Brussels. 

The festival starts with an exposé by artist, film critic and filmmaker Yann Beauvais, on the occasion of the publication of his book Agir le cinéma, écrits sur le cinéma expérimental (1979-2020) earlier this year, comprising many of his essays. He also compiled the film program À fleur de peau / Op de rand van je huid with films that were important to his practice and the program Quoi : Queer ! / Wat: Queer!
There will be programs focusing on the relation of humans with nature, decolonial practices in subjective filmmaking; the first editions of the Super 8 Festival of Brussels, retrieved by Brussels initative PELISKAN and a film-performance by Elsa Rossler and Loïc Verdillon on fragments filmed by geologist and vulcanologist Haroun Tazieff.
