Night of the Experimental Film 2026
On 6 November, Art Cinema OFFoff returns with a new edition of the Night of the Experimental Film, taking over the concert hall at Het Bos in Antwerp. The programme brings together analog multi-projection, live music, film performances and installation, with a focus on works that push the boundaries of cinema.
At the heart of the evening are two iconic works from 1967: Vensters, an audiovisual collaboration between poet Jan van der Hoeven and electronic music pioneer Lucien Goethals, and Shelter 9999, a noise and film performance by Takahiko Iimura and Alvin Lucier. The programme also features Julian Ross performing Iimura’s Screen Play, featuring 16mm projection onto a bare back, and a new seaweed-developed film installation, Silence, Song, by Alex Schuurbiers.
