Regards sur le réel

The DVD ‘Regards sur le réel’ presents six significant documentary films produced in French in Belgium during the 20th century. Thanks both to the view they offer us of reality and their reflection on its form, these are works that left their mark on the singular art of the documentary film. These various views question, search for and approach reality in their own way in an attempt to address the why and how of cinema. The release includes, among others, the wonderful Dimanche (Edmond Bernhard, 1963) and Lettre d’un cinéaste à sa fille (Eric Pauwels, 2000).
