STOM!

Silent Film Festival in Bruges

From 26 to 29 September, the second edition of STOM!, a film festival dedicated to silent film, will take place in Bruges. The festival opens with Der Berg des Schicksals (Arnold Fanck, 1924), a film that marked the beginning of the mountain film genre. Other highlights include Zemlya [Earth] (Aleksandr Dovzhenko, 1930), L’ombra (Mario Almirante, 1920), and Fûun jôshi [The Castle Under the Wind and Clouds] (Toko Yamazaki, 1928), along with two masterclasses: one on Dovzhenko’s Earth and another on live musical accompaniment for silent film.
