Night of Experimental Film

Art Cinema OFFoff cele­bra­tes its 20th anni­vers­a­ry with a spe­ci­al edi­ti­on of the Night of Experimental Film on 8 December at De Centrale, Ghent. This year, the Night will fea­tu­re a mix of clas­sic and con­tem­po­ra­ry work from the rich reper­toi­re of expe­ri­men­tal cine­ma, all with brand new live sco­res. This year’s lineup is com­po­sed by cura­tor Sofie Verdoodt and Ghent-based record label B.A.A.D.M. On the program are Maya Deren’s Meshes of the Afternoon, Larry Gottheim’s Fog Line, Philippe Cote’s Des nua­ges aux fêlu­res de la ter­re and Jean Painlevé’s La pieuvre (1928): with new sco­res by Aleksandra Słyż, Continuity and Giulio Aldinucci.There will also be a live per­for­man­ce by BR Laser (a.k.a. Bernhard Rasinger).

After the film pro­jec­ti­ons there’s a party planned with music by Johan Loones (a.k.a. dj Platenkwekerij Knotwilg) alongside Tine Guns’ cine-com­po­si­ti­ons.
