Bill Douglas Trilogy II

Following Nicolas Philibert’s State of Cinema on 30 November, Bozar and Sabzian present a rare opportunity to experience Bill Douglas’s celebrated Trilogy in its entirety. Philibert selected My Childhood (1972), the first instalment, to accompany his address. Across three films, Douglas traces Jamie’s journey into adulthood in a poverty-stricken Scottish mining community, transforming hardship and deprivation into a work of extraordinary formal precision, tenderness, and emotional force. The complete trilogy will be screened at Bozar on 5 and 13 December (schedule subject to change).
