7. Blind Children
Johan van der Keuken Retrospective
In 1964, Johan van der Keuken made a film at the Institute for the Blind, where the children play sports, read in braille and learn to handle a guide dog. Then the blind child breaks outside, where the children venture into traffic, or take part in a running race. One of the children from the institute is followed two years later in the film Blind Child II. Herman Slobbe is now an adolescent finding his way in a rapidly changing world.
