Annie van den Oever
Annie van den Oever (1957) is a Dutch professor of Film and Visual Media at the University of Groningen, where she has been heading the Film Archive and Media Archeology Lab since 2010. In 2011, she was appointed Extraordinary Professor for Film and Visual Media at the Faculty of the Humanities of the University of the Free State UFS, South Africa. She wrote several books on film and literature such as Dame in broekpak (1981), De broer van god (1984), Over liefde (1986) and contributed to the essay De geboorte van Boontje. Louis Paul Boon, de avant garde en de stomme film (2012), which explores the link between the rise of film in the Low Countries and two pivotal figures in the avant-garde before and after the war: Paul van Ostaijen and Louis Paul Boon.
