Joseph Roth
Joseph Roth was a Jewish-Austrian writer, poet, and journalist. His novel Radetzky March (1932), about the decline of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is considered a classic of European literature. Alongside his literary work, Roth had a deep interest in cinema. He wrote two screenplays and published numerous articles and essays on film for magazines and newspapers that reflect a fascination with the fundamental film-theoretical questions.
