29. Masterclass Thierry Odeyn

“I had a terrible time getting my films shown in international circuits, festivals, or elsewhere. These are organizations designed to confirm categories rather than dismantle them. (...) Personally, I believe that any film consciously shaped in terms of form is fundamentally a fiction film.” – Johan van der Keuken

This notion, along with others, will be explored by Thierry Odeyn, filmmaker and educator, in a masterclass enriched with numerous excerpts from Johan van der Keuken’s films. Among them are Amsterdam Global Village, with its ambitious structure, and Herman Slobbe, where blindness, through the filmmaker’s lens, becomes a space for social struggle.
