41. De grote vakantie [2]

With the knowledge that he had only a few years left to live, Van der Keuken used his film camera and a small digital camera to capture the transience of life across various cultures. In a kind of road-air-movie, he filmed almost everything from his own perspective: traveling by planes and cars, encounters with Buddhist lamas, a Tibetan doctor, and his view from a hang glider above Rio de Janeiro.

On the occasion of the retrospective, Sabzian published an Issue featuring Van der Keuken’s writings, available in English, Dutch and French. A collection of texts on his work by various authors will be published in the coming weeks.
