18. De platte jungle [1]

A documentary about the Wadden Sea, the area between the sea and the mainland, constantly shifting due to the tides. Johan van der Keuken: “De platte jungle [The Flat Jungle] has a long-term construction aimed at connecting the minuscule with the enormous: salt marshes with nuclear power plants. In between, the image of our skewed relationship with Mother Nature emerges and how we dredge through it.”

On the occasion of the retrospective, Sabzian published an Issue featuring Van der Keuken’s writings, available in English, Dutch and French. A collection of texts on his work by various authors will be published in the coming weeks.
